Map Of Training Road Toward San Jacinto.

Use this Google Map to follow my tracks up and back down the Palm Springs, CA Tram Road. I stop at the lower Tram Station at the top of the road, up 4 miles at 2,643 feet, then return to the base at approximately 555 feet. Total distance is 8.2 miles with a 21 degree grade at the top.

Upon entering the map, press the minus sign on the left pull back from the map and then zero in on the red line and starting point in the lower right corner. You can use a number of choices to see the mountains, including Google Earth. Check out the size of the mountains when you pull close to the road and tilt the screen up toward the sky. Amazing aren't they? San Jacinto is 1/3 the size of Everest.

  1. This kicked my butt today. It was 84 degrees when I reached the bottom around 1;40pm.
